Painting Maintenance
Claremont
This project focused on refreshing and protecting key interior spaces.
In the bedroom, all walls and the ceiling were repainted to restore a clean, updated look. The bathroom ceiling, affected by mould due to moisture exposure, was professionally treated and finished with two coats of high-quality, mould-resistant paint.
The result is a healthier, longer-lasting finish with improved aesthetics and durability.
Exterior Wall Repairs
Gardens, Cape Town
This project addressed water ingress issues affecting a top-floor apartment bedroom. Our team carried out targeted repairs to two weather-facing exterior walls by opening visible cracks, filling them with a cementitious mix enhanced with waterproofing agents to prevent future moisture intrusion. We also inspected and made good the existing torch-on waterproofing on the roof, repairing any visible cracks and holes.
To complete the project, all repaired surfaces were sanded, prepped, primed, and painted to seamlessly match the existing exterior finish—restoring both protection and appearance. Therafter followed by an interior damp check.
Suspended Plastered Ceilings
Oranjezicht
As part of a full kitchen renovation in a private residence, we supplied and installed an 11 m² suspended plastered ceiling to enhance both the visual and functional quality of the space. Designed specifically for an elderly client’s home, the ceiling provides a clean, modern look while improving insulation and allowing for service concealment.
The installation followed a structured process to ensure precision and durability:
Site Preparation:
The kitchen area was cleared and protected to minimize dust and disruption.Setting Out & Framing:
Ceiling height levels were marked out accurately, and a galvanized steel perimeter track was fixed to the walls. Cross-supporting ceiling furring channels and hangers were installed to create a sturdy, level framework.Boarding & Plastering:
Plasterboard(9mm Rhinoboard) sheets were fixed securely to the framework, joints were taped, and the entire ceiling surface was plastered to a smooth, seamless finish.Finishing Touches:
Once dry, the ceiling was sanded, primed, and painted to match the newly renovated kitchen aesthetic, ensuring a high-quality and long-lasting result.
Exterior Waterproofing
Claremont
Following a detailed site assessment, this project addressed significant water ingress due to a failed waterproofing system and poor roof slab drainage. Stagnant water was found trapped beneath the membrane, causing damage to interior ceilings and finishes.
Our scope included the removal of existing waterproofing, re-levelling the slab with screed to create a positive slope towards existing drainage points, and the application of a new waterproofing system. This consisted of 220m² of ABE torch-on bitumen membrane with flash banding, finished with two protective coats of ABE Silvakote Silver.
Interior ceiling cracks were also treated and re-skimmed to restore a clean finish. All rubble and debris were cleared upon completion, ensuring a clean and watertight result.
Rebuild Boundary Wall
Gardens, Cape Town
This project involved the structural restoration and rebuilding of a boundary wall at a residential apartment block, following significant damage caused by a truck accident. The scope required careful demolition, design sensitivity, and construction to match the property’s heritage aesthetic.
We carried out selective demolition of damaged wall sections and foundation upstands, followed by the reconstruction of brickwork and the installation of five custom-designed structural pillars with reinforced concrete footings, shaped to replicate the original architectural style. The works also included installing galvanized steel cross poles to match existing fittings, rebuilding four planter boxes, and applying detailed plaster finishes throughout. All surfaces were sanded, primed, and painted to ensure a seamless blend with the original structure, with final site clearing and disposal of construction debris completing the restoration
Water Damage Repairs
Sea Point
This project involved comprehensive interior and exterior water damage repairs to a building management office, aimed at restoring structural integrity and aesthetic continuity after prolonged exposure to moisture.
Exterior works included the removal of deteriorated waterproofing layers on the roof, clearing vegetation and razor wire to access side walls, and treating all visible cracks with waterproofing agents. Blocked gutters and downpipes were cleared to ensure proper drainage, followed by the application of Rubber-Flex over torch-on waterproofing for added protection. All exterior surfaces were sanded, prepped, and repainted to match the existing finish.
Interior works began with scraping and drying out damp-affected walls, supported by the use of a dehumidifier and space heater. Cracks were treated with waterproofing compounds, and all damaged wall sections were re-skimmed, primed with damp seal, and painted to blend with surrounding surfaces. Additional tasks included the removal and replacement of the face basin, and repainting of metal fixtures such as the security gate, stable door, and burglar bars.
All waste and debris were removed from site upon completion, leaving a fully restored and functional office environment.
